Humboldt County is part of an extended regional power outage due to fire danger in multiple other Northern California counties. Power is out throughout most of the county, and many businesses and services are closed.
For those travelling to the area, we recommend calling in advance to confirm reservations and other arrangements.
At this time, University staff are focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, as well as securing campus facilities. Food and housing services are being provided. Social events are being organized for students who live on and off campus, and other support such as counseling is available.
Our thoughts are with all of those across Northern California who are without power and facing increased risk of fire.
Be sure to stop by the HSU bookstore to purchase your Humboldt gear.
